      Really enjoying the game but:
I think that the intro vid/storyline screens should allow you to scroll through them. I read faster then the time alotted for each one and I found myself tapping the screen wishing it would go on but it was giving me the little red symbol in the corner that told me it would respond to my tapping.
I also feel the game should start with a menu screen, I think it makes the game look more polished if I get the choice to choose to play the game straight from the menu screen.
The fact that I could scroll through the beginning instruction screens about the big map, each new level with new screens added was a little surprising to me. When I got the instruction screen for the 2nd level and pressed the next button and it took me back to the first instruction screen I thought something went wrong. The instruction screens shouldn't be in a circle like that where pressing next takes you to the first screen again, it just seems wrong.
I experienced a crash but that may relate to the my iPod or something, not sure if it is related to the game..?!
Thank you for the free game and the exciting contest. :)

Yeah we've had issues with crashes, and we've done a crazy amount of extra unit testing to figure out what is wrong to no real avail. The best we can conclude is that sometimes Apple borks the implementations on OpenGL ES (they did this on OpenAL and we have to put in specialty error handling code) and the VBO loader may have a hidden issue that randomly fires that prevents loading of a VBO.

Yeah I know, really complicated explanation. :p

Basically, if you reset your device this shouldn't happen very often – it kinda effects all the 3D games out there. Some devs just have more time to put in more rigorous error check code.

We also spent a deal of time asking various people on the speed of the cutscenes and they said they didn't appear for long enough, so we upped that value a bit. At this point, since the music is keyed to the transitions, we can't really change that without having Brad redo the music composition. Hehehe, good luck with that! :p

Get the 3rd ! Tks , feedback later on!

    Feedback

I will be fair and honest !! I did't like the graphics i expected more for retina display!! Fonts are not so readable throught the game too!
I played only to phase 2, in my expectation are a little bigger than what the game provides!!

Wish the dev do little changes to fits what customer needs!

    Hope my feedbacks helps!

    Tks

Actually in v1.2 we just pushed to Apple we have integrated the HD content. So all the maps, cut scenes, etc. are all going to be in HD.

Unfortunately we have to push a separate HD version for iPad, but the current version is going to automatically incorporate the better graphics next version. ;)

    I'm back with Feedback:

Best: The best part of the game is the plot. This isn't saying much seeing as how the plot is rather weak, but it does set a somewhat interesting setting/objective of the game.

Worst: By far, the graphics. The initial story screens were lacking enough detail for an iPhone game (though that may be cause I'm so used to angry birds/cut the rope) and during gameplay, the brains/zombies seemed rather small and indistinguishable. The physics of gameplay (throwing brains) and the movement of the zombies was passable though.

Another negative: Game crashed after 2nd level which may limit the validity of my feedback (maybe it gets better later on? but I doubt it).

Overall, a lackluster game, but I shouldn’t really complain seeing as I got it for free.

We went and asked people on a market survey what they thought was important and we were surprised to find that the #1 highest rated response that people were dying for was a good storyline. It's kinda weird considering that you have games in the top 100 that have zero storyline. But given the namesake "Rogue Pirate Ninja", we feel that we're going to dive a lot more into storyline our next dev run. So yeah, there isn't a lot there (comparatively to some of the awesome RPG titles) but will be if we ever do a sequel. =)

I also responded to a similar crash above – has to do with Apple's implementation on GLES with the VBO loader. Really akward and hard to reproduce bug, but if we figure out what's causing it we can put in some code to make that not happen.

I think the graphics actually turned out really nice for this game, but I can also understand that when you're comparing it against the #1 top App of the entire 200k+ Apps on the App Store, it may not be as "polished". Easier said than done, truly.

Heh, funny story, did you ever watch "Wayne's World"? The part where Noah Vanderhoff talks about Zantar, the game in which the player controls the gelatinous cube around to eat medieval villagers? That was actually the original premise of the game. We went with it for a bit and decided that a gelatinous cube may be a bit hard to pull off considering that they are mindless. Having a wizard control the cube through some mechanism defeats the purpose of being a wizard, of course. We then combined it with a run-of-the-mill zombie TD game idea we had, and presto, everything else just fell right into place.
